FAQs

DO WE NEED A SECOND SHOOTER?

This is totally dependent on the photographer. I’m personally very comfortable shooting solo, and sometimes it’s even better so as not to have too many “cooks in the kitchen”. This is especially something to consider if you have videographer(s) because it can start to feel a lot like paparazzi really quickly and take away/distract from the moment. I will say though, having a second shooter can be beneficial, if there is just a lot going on in different places at the same time. I’m happy to help you understand if having a second shooter would benefit your vision or not!

WHAT’S YOUR TURNAROUND?

I deliver your photos in no less than 2 months. I always strive to exceed expectations, and I usually do, but it also depends on the time of year and the workload I currently have.

WHAT’S YOUR RETAINER TO BOOK YOU?

Retainer amounts vary depending on the type/length of the shoot, what kind of travel is involved and the date of the event. You can expect a retainer to be $1-3k to reserve me for your event.

Q: HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

Timeless, punchy, honest.

Q: HOW MANY HOURS DO WE NEED A PHOTOGRAPHER FOR?

Not all weddings are structured the same, so it’s best to consult us on what would best suit your plans. Generally speaking, for traditional weddings I think 7-9 hours is sufficient in most cases. The important piece is that I want to make sure I am there for more than the “highlight” moments. I want to tell a robust story from your day so sometimes that means being there longer than you may think is necessary.

Q: What is documentary photography?

To me, documentary (or story-telling or journalistic) photography is about being in the moment, without disrupting it. it starts with establishing trust and rapport between you and your guests and myself. Without trust there is zero vulnerability and that’s the key to documenting unadulterated moments and story. I strive to balance the line of being a guest and a fly on the wall.

Q: DO YOU TRAVEL and if so, what does that cost?

I definitely love to travel. I take on 3-5 traveling shoots each year. Sky is the limit so if you have something in mind I absolutely want to hear it. Cost is pretty dependent on the where, when and how factors. I am very low maintenance and definitely do not try to gauge my clients with over the top travel fees, but I do make sure my overhead and time is accounted for.
