FILM

I (Tyler) shoot on a variety of 35mm film cameras and a polaroid

to provide an enhanced and richer experience.

I find that shooting on film allows me to slow down and be that much more intentional with how and what I shoot.

LIFESTYLE ON FILM…

  • If you’ve ever done a family or engagement shoot before, you probably have this idea that you need to perform, or listen to direction, or consolidate multiple different locations/activities into one hour in order to get good photos.

I’m frankly so tired of that approach… I so badly want to document people - the families and couples, in a way that’s more raw and real. Part of the approach is simply spending more time with them and building that rapport, comfort and vulnerability. The other piece is not trying to make something that it’s not. We won’t make the day about the photos, but rather the photos about the day, whatever it is you choose to do with it. By extending my time with you, and shooting what’s in front of me as it unfolds naturally, you’re free of all of those pressures and expectations.

  • 3, 6 and 12 hour session options. Although I am happy to be flexible and come up with a custom shoot plan based on the circumstances and goal of the shoot.

It is important to set the right expectations in that I won’t necessarily be constantly shooting. I want to cultivate vulnerability and a sense of comfort and freedom to be yourselves and do the things that come naturally. It’s really hard to achieve that mood if I’m constantly in your face snapping away. I prefer to be present, engaged and selective to document in the most captivating way.

I will be spending my time with you relentlessly observing and shooting the moments in front of me that I think help tell your story.

  • I send you a digital gallery from which you can download and share your film scans. I will also send you a 4×6 of every film scan I deliver.

*a general rule is that I shoot about 1 roll of film (36 frames) per hour. So 6 hour shoot I would aim to shoot 6 rolls of film (or about 200 photos).

  • 3 hours: $900

    6 hours: $1,200

    12 hours: $1800
